What is it?
Log of SMS messages sent to patients. Used for compliance, audit trail, and operational tracking. SMS sending is handled via Twilio integration.
When SMS is Used
- Appointment reminders
- OTP verification (phone verification flows — stored in OTP_Verification module)
- Post-visit follow-ups
- Marketing messages (via Zoho Marketing Automations — managed by Douglas)
- Outbound outreach by PCAs
SMS_Backup Module
SMS_Backup is a compliance module — a log of all SMS messages sent to patients for audit purposes. Required for HIPAA compliance.
Phone Number Policy
When creating test accounts, never use a personal phone number. The system sends real SMS messages.
Use a landline number from an online random number generator — landlines cannot receive SMS, so no real messages land anywhere.
IT Message Templates
The IT Message Templates module stores reusable SMS message bodies that staff can drop into outbound messages. Ask William Canizalez about available templates.
